All about Overseas Nurses

International Qualified Nurses (IQNs) or Registered Nurses (RNs) from other countries who wish to join Kidney Australia's home-based dialysis service can follow these steps:

 

1. Meet the requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in dialysis service
  • Registered Nurse in their home country
  • English language proficiency: IELTS 6.0 or equivalent

 

2. Register with AHPRA and NMBA:

  • Pass the Outcomes-Based Assessment within two years of working with Kidney Australia to become a Registered Nurse in Australia

 

3. Alternative pathway:

  • Study in Australia through My Pathfinder (MPF) program
  • Enroll in a Master's in Health Services at an MPF partner institution
  • Work with Kidney Australia for 48 hours per fortnight (2 weeks) and full-time during school breaks

 

4. Permanent Residency opportunities:

  • Working with Kidney Australia opens doors for IQNs to pursue Permanent Residency in Australia
  • Guided by MPF partner Migration Agents Registration Authority, MARA (5031831, 1802037, 9473712, 0531913 Phillip Au & Associates) licensed migration agent in Australia
